ARRA Incentives for physician practices
Qualifying physician practices that demonstrate meaningful use of EMR are eligible to receive incentive payments on an annual basis from either Medicare or Medicaid, but not both. The incentives are structured such that the sooner physicians adopt an EMR, the larger their incentive allocation. Additionally, physicians who fail to implement an EMR by 2015 will be penalized 1-3% percentage of their Medicare or Medicaid reimbursements.
